This beautiful little book is part of a limited edition of 100, hand-bound using traditional Japanese bookbinding techniques, printed on recycled ivory parchment and housed in a soft, matte black paper sleeve corseted up the back in red thread.

The book measures 5.25x8.25in (13.3x21cm). It is signed and marked with the edition number inside.

This book houses a collection of 12 of my original illustrations directly inspired by shunga, the erotic woodblock prints from sixteenth-eighteenth century Japan. Translated to “spring” - a euphemism for sex –shunga were also known as “pillow books” and served a few known purposes: they were kept as good luck charms by firemen and samurai (single men – how coincidental!), and given to new brides for ‘instructional use’. These illustrations result in some of the most beautiful porn in the world.

Instead of using the traditional woodcut printing method, I started these pieces by creating a black and white outline drawing with a little brush and sumi ink. After scanning, digital color and pattern were added by using scans and photos of textured fabric and paper. I've been working on this series for some time now, and I created it as a celebration of love/lust/passion/fun/play. This would make an exquisite gift, to someone special, or to yourself. :)

Yes, there is full nudity. Yes, it is pure class.
